Hi everyone!! this was my last week in Costa Rica and sadly my last blog. My last week in Costa Rica was great because I could work in Hospital Mexico and travel with my parents to La Fortuna.  Monday I went to Hospital Mexico with Emily to help Oscar and Melvin with monitors, beds, and incubators they had to check. Emily and I were in charge of testing them all and checking that they were working correctly. Furthermore, in the afternoon I met with my parents and went to an all-you-can-eat steak in Barrio Escalate. It was a lot of food but it was very worth it so I recommend it to anyone that wants to taste a variety of steaks. Tuesday, I rented a car with my parents and we started our adventure driving to Cartago. If it is the first time you read my blog, Cartago is a city close to San Jose that has a very beautiful church in the middle of the downtown. We had an amazing experience in Cartago because it was the day of the Virgin Marry which is one of the most important days for the people in Cartago. To give a little bit of background, people from all around the country walk for many hours to Cartago to honor Virgin Marry. Then, we drove all the way to La Fortuna because we wanted to spend the night in the hot springs. We went to Baldi hot springs, which I truly recommend it was a beautiful experience. The place has 10 different pools, each one with different decorations and water temperatures. Wednesday, I went to the waterfalls and hanging bridges. The waterfall experience was very nice because we were able to get very close to the waterfalls and take some good pictures. Furthermore, the hanging bridges are closer to the Volcan Arenal so the views are beautiful, so it is very recommended.

Thursday. my mother flew back home and I went to work at Hospital Mexico. Emily and I were in charge of filling up reports of all the preventive maintenance we did during the week. We had lunch and went back to Selina. Friday, was our last day as Meditek interns so our mentor Pablo invited us for lunch close to the office. He told us he was very grateful for our help for these two months and he was very thankful for us. Also, he gave us some souvenirs to remember our time in Costa Rica. Also, I played my last soccer match, also called Mejenga in Costa Rica, with my coworkers which was a lot of fun. Finally, I had the last dinner with the girls in a restaurant at Barrio Escalante where we ate sushi and spend our last moments in our adventure in Costa Rica.

Finally, I want to thank the GMI program for the amazing experience I had working for Meditek during the summer. It was an experience that made me grow as a professional and as a person. I was able to meet amazing people that were very open to teaching me all their knowledge in the field. Also, I want to thank Pablo Sanchez our mentor for always being open to helping us and sending us on trips all around the country to make our experience in Costa Rica even better every week. Finally, thank you Costa Rica it was a growing summer and hopefully, I will be back to visit all the beautiful places that I wasnt able to visit this summer.
