Hey guys, welcome back to the second to last week of Ravi’s life in Costa Rica. After conquering Poas Volcan the previous weekend, this week has been pretty slow and tiring. As much as I’ve enjoyed my time here in CR, it’s time for me to return to the States where I’m excited to start a new journey in Houston, TX.

At Confluent, things have been a little slow. Last week, Hannah and I performed catheter characterization where learned about the design of experiment principles and data collection. Our analysis led to changes in quality and work instructions documents ultimately impacting how the catheter will be finally assembled. This week, while we were supposed to continue characterization on a different catheter segment, the arrival of parts from Austin was delayed due to customs. Our characterization will be picked up first thing next week on Tuesday as Monday is the Annexation of Guanacaste holiday.

Life at Selina has been pretty dull lately and I’m excited to leave. Outside of Selina, members of the GMI group have been regularly attending the gym. As usual, we’ve never failed to go to pizza Thursdays at Lolita. Me and Sid usually get the Siciliana which never fails to hit the spot. This time, we even got some hot honey (on the house) which really spiced up the flavor. Last night, I and Sid went to Barrio Chino (Chinatown) and hit up a new spot. We went to a place called Holiday Hot Pot and ordered some amazing beef stir fry. After, we feasted on 4 dim sum plates at Wong’s restaurant and headed back to Selina to watch a movie.

Overall, as I reflect on my time here, there are so many things I didn’t get the chance to do. But for all the things that I did do, most of it was super fulfilling. Even though I’m a little sad that this summer excursion in Costa Rica flew by, it was well worth and I hope to translate the experience and new friendships I’ve gained back in Houston.
