This week was an extremely busy week. Between getting thrown into multiple projects at work and trying to plan a weekend trip with the group, the week flew by. Exhausting to say the least, so what better way to end it than a Sunday morning 9km hike? The girls and Travis planned a last minute trip to Hacienda la Chimba, which is a coffee farm that includes various hiking trails through the farm and up the mountain. Along the trails are multiple photo-op stops where tourists (us) could take cute pictures of monuments that represent the well known aspects of Costa Rica. One of the most famous monuments that the trail has is La Mano de Mantra, which is a wooden hand created with sticks that stretches out over the plantation. The hike itself was a good amount of challenging for non-experienced hikers, but was extremely fun. Towards the end of the 9km when fatigue was setting in we just put on some music and powered through to the finish!

Originally, we were supposed to be joining the rest of the guys in an intensive 22 mile hike of Poas volcano; however, upon weighing the risks of going into such a hike physically unprepared we decided not to. We still accompanied them to the Airbnb near Poas to hang out Friday night, though. The house was gorgeous and sat atop a mountain overlooking a coffee farm right next to our hosts family’s farm. The views were absolutely gorgeous and we spent a good amount of time all together just relaxing and unwinding from the week. It was a much needed stay!

Needless to say, we will all be taking much needed rest this week, so hopefully nothing too crazy comes up. Next wee we are planning a trip to La Fortuna to hopefully be even more toursity near Arenal Volcano. So far with this week being crazy, not a lot of official plans have been set in place, but we know we will be there Friday-Monday and we plan on doing either horseback riding through Rio Celeste, white water rafting, or a canopy tour! No matter what, the views should again be amazing and we will have a great time together. Hopefully next week I will have an exciting update about that trip.
