Hi everyone, welcome back to another week in Ravi’s life. I haven’t had a chance to travel anywhere new, but this week was unique. Next week, hopefully, I’ll have more to share as I conquer the infamous Poas volcano.

This week, I was feeling a little patriotic for the 4th of July so I decided to take the day off from work. I didn’t do too much except think about America. After returning back to Confluent, a lot of my work was super hands-on as I and Hannah got to build a storage rack and set up of computer in the clean room. These tasks required a lot of coordination and collaboration as transferring these hefty items into the clean room was definitely not easy. I’m not too sure where the rest of this internship will take me but I’m definitely looking forward to it.

The GMI group has definitely been getting a little bored with our stay at Selina so we’ve been trying to explore new places in central San Jose. Last Thursday, instead of getting our usual pizza at Il Vicolo, we tried a new place – Pizzeria Oliva – which wasn’t bad but also can’t compare to the Siciliana that I’ve gotten multiple times at Lolita. On Friday, Pablo, whom I hadn’t seen in forever, joined us as we tried the Costa Rican Beer Factory. Me and the guys tried a sampler and all the beers were pretty good and unique. The same night, it happened to be a coworker’s birthday, so we all went to Alajuela to celebrate his 30th birthday. Alajuela is pretty far so two 45-min Ubers weren’t super fun in the middle of the night. On Saturday, the group explored Barrio Escalante and got dinner at Aguacate where I had a super good IPA (Midwest?).

I definitely feel like I need to travel around more because I’ve exhausted all the places I frequently visit in central San Jose. Next week, I’ll be hiking Poas so I’ll definitely have more to share. In the meantime, enjoy a picture of the dome in Morazán Park. I don’t know its significance but it has a really lovely architectural shape and build. Stay tuned until next week – peace!
