Hello again from San Jose, Costa Rica this was one of the most exciting weeks so far working at Meditek. From Monday to Wednesday Jose, Stuart, and me had the task of replacing a tube of a surgery lamp and installing a new surgery lamp and bed at the Clinica Catolica. Monday, I had to be at 7 am in the office to start a day full of learning and experiences.  First, we drove to Clinica Catolica with Jose one of the engineers who has 15 yearsof experience working with medical equipment. As soon as we got there we had to take all the equipment out of the truck and put it in the different surgery rooms. We started by replacing the tube of the surgery lamp which required taking down the whole lamb and opening a hole in the ceiling to manage the electrical components of the lamp. It took us the whole day to replace the tube as we had to be extremely careful not to damage any of the components of the lamp.

Tuesday, was the first day of installing the new surgery lamb in Cllnica Catolica. First, we had to take down the old surgery lamp which was very easy because Stuart and Jose had a lot of experience doing that. Then, we realized that the old screws that were solder to the plate on the wall didnt fit the plate of the new lamp. So, we had to cut the screws with a saw and replace the screws with new ones. Then, we took down all te electrical components of the old lamp and adding the new components. We had to jump cables across the walls of the room which in my opinion was veru exciting. Then, we added the holding component of the lamp which was very heavy, and took four of us to mount it. We called it day after mounting the base of the lamp because it was already four. Wednesday, was our last day in Clinica Catolica as we had to finish installing the surgery lamp that day.  It was a very easy day as we just had to add the lamps to the base somethiing we had already done Monday. It took us a couple hours to finish the lamp and test it to see if everything was working well. Then, we had to wait fo of hours to finish the lamp and test it to see if everything was working well. Furthermore, we went back to the office to help one of my coworkers fix a vital sign monitor which we were not able to fix at the end. Thurday and Friday, I was with Lucia and Emily in the Calderon Guardia hospital checking on anesthesia machines. Next week I am not sure where I am going to be but I will post all my adventures.
