Paula

Hello, I’m Paula, and I recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I studied chemical and biomolecular engineering and can’t wait to get medical device design experience and work with my GMI classmates. My excitement level for the GMI is through the roof because it incorporates varied aspects of medical device design into one concentrated year. I look forward to teamwork, top-caliber classmates, design projects, prototyping, international relationships, needs assessment, corporate environments, clinical environments, academic environments, mentorship…I could go on! These will all present challenges, and to me, a challenge is the best way to learn. I’ve made use of my excitement and motivation by taking a SolidWorks training course. Gaining this skill is inherently rewarding for me because it has been my goal to build and design for years. With GMI on the horizon, I’m even more motivated to become proficient because I want to help my GMI team. I’m certain I’ll continue to develop design skills throughout the next year. It’s going to be a blast learning and working alongside my classmates.
