ยกPura Vida!

Iโ€™m back in the US and currently visiting my cousins in California! This nine-week internship flew by fast. I met many wonderful people and grew close to other GMI students, interns, and colleagues at work. Costa Rica truly lives up to its reputation for warmth, both in its weather and its people.

During my last week at ESTA, I had pinto for breakfast every morning. I was actually quite busy working on five different projects and created several presentations, including one for a new test method proposal, presentation skills practice, and a summary of my internship. I hyperlinked all tasks in the slides to the corresponding folder where I stored the files. Although I completed all assigned projects, I felt a bit stressed trying to finish everything before returning the laptop to HR earlier than expected. I should have requested a lighter workload for the final week to have more time to say goodbye to everyone at the company. Anyway, the slight sadness hit when I hugged my colleagues goodbye.

Fun-wise – the weekend before returning, we rented cars and drove to Guanacaste to enjoy the beaches. Playa Danita was absolutely stunning, and I spent a fantastic day in the water and on the beach.

I also made a LinkedIn post reflecting on my internship at ESTA. Feel free to check it out if youโ€™re interested.

Could you believe this is already our last blog post? This was my first time working at a medical device company, my first time in Central America exploring Costa Rica on weekends, and my first time learning Spanish. Thanks for tuning in and reading through my journey! Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn if you are interested in the GMI program or this internship in Costa Rica.
