Hi everyone, thanks for tuning back into another week of Ravi’s life in Costa Rica. Last week, Hannah and I had many scares during our morning commutes to our internship at Confluent Medical. There’s this one exit that is always backed up by traffic and two of our drivers thought that if they waited long enough on the freeway, they’d be able to cut in. Out first driver’s situation was unfortunate – he had his car plates taken away and was given a $200 ticket. Our second driver also got pulled over but after telling him that the first driver had his plates taken away by the SAME officer, he booked it and sped away as the officer was heading back to his bike. Every morning, Hannah and I ride in fear and always keep our heads down when approaching this exit so we don’t get noticed by the same officer.

Other than that, work has been pretty mediocre. Things are moving slowly and so far, I’ve completed ~65 virtual trainings over the last week. The company food is pretty good (probably because it’s free) but to be honest, I’m getting a little bored with traditional CR food. This week alone, I’ve been to Lolita twice and got some fantastic pizza and gelato. Overall, I’m definitely looking forward to trying new places to eat but I get back to Selina at 5:30 every day which makes being motivated to go anywhere really difficult.

Lastly, the highlight of the week would have been our fun excursion to Manuel Antonio (beach). After taking a long 3-hr private bus ride there, our group enjoyed the pool, drinks, and gorgeous beach we had access to. I got to ride some waves with Travis and the boys. I still have the rest of today to enjoy Manuel Antonio so unfortunately a lot of fun reflection will be left out of this blog. Until next week – peace!
