Sarah

In May 2018, I graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Spanish from the University of Minnesota. I have always loved traveling and after studying abroad in Spain for a few weeks, I knew I wanted to spend more time immersing myself in the cultures of other countries. Throughout my undergraduate career, I was able to participate in needs finding at a nearby hospital and complete a project to solve the problem that was identified. This experience sparked my interest in the clinical side of engineering, and I hope to become a field clinical engineer after Rice’s Global Medical Innovation program. My goal is to use my engineering skills to improve the lives of patients and to bridge the gap between physicians, patients, and engineers. I am looking forward to joining the program and am very excited to travel to Costa Rica and to gain clinical experience at Texas Medical Center. In my free time, I enjoy camping, spending time with friends and family, and taking care of my dog, David.
