Howdy! I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in May of 2017. In the last two years of my undergraduate program, I saw value in pursuing a career that directly improved the quality of life of people in substandard conditions, and resultantly saw medical device design as a great way to do that. Similarly, as I became more aware of the uneven distribution of resources globally, including medical technologies, I developed a sense of responsibility to facilitate the spreading and adapting of medical technologies to new places around the world. My goal in pursuing this MBE degree at Rice is to equip myself with the relevant experience and skills needed to begin a successful career in the medical technology industry innovating for emerging global markets.
