Annie

I received my B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, with a focus in biomaterials, from Ohio State University. My dream is to design medical devices so I know that a Master’s of Bioengineering will put me on the right track for my future. Though I am not positive exactly what aspects of medical device design I would like to pursue, my current interests are in orthopedics or drug delivery systems. At OSU, I also received the Global Option in Engineering distinction. This, along with my travels during my undergraduate years, sparked my curiosity for experiencing other cultures and a desire to design medical devices for global settings. The Rice GMI program was one of the only programs in the nation focused on global engineering, along with advanced market device development. I am so excited for the opportunity to live and work in Costa Rica on such impactful projects.
